THE SLEUTHSAYER
"Pop music and sex have always been indivisible," opines Britain's Daily

Together, they create a raw excitement, and the fact that sexually explicit displays
by rock icons are certain to outrage parents and conservatives only serves to
delight their fans and create a hunger for more."
It's a hunger we seek to satiate in our fourth edition devoted soulyto "Throats
of Note," wherein we present ourversion of the famous "Top 40"...in
the form of 40 famous tops! "In order to create ever more shocking images
to grab the attention of the MTV generation," one rock writer noted, "the pop video makers are increasingly seeking inspiration from the soft porn industry."
And the increasingly naughty names of the groups bare this out: In researching
this issue we came across such ACTUAL band monikers as the all-girl Fuzzbox {on Geffen Records, no less}; Butt Trumpet, featuring guitarist Bianca {"the hottest babe on the scene today"}; the "60s-inspired Chicago garage punk band with that fun party attitude," who call themselves Cunts; vocalist Boo, guitarist Pee Pee, harMonica player June and drummer Dinky—aka Sluts for Hire; "a sweet all-female Australian band" rejoicing in the name Connie and the Cocksuckers; songwriter Kim Shattuck's acclaimed trio The Muffs, whose 1995 bestselling album was entitled "Blonder and Blonder"; Julianna Hatfield's opening act, Fuzzy; and, of course, that immortal Oklahoma sextet Wood Pussy.
