EDITORIAL NOTE

Time certainly is fleeting. It seems like we just finished the last STAG, and yet here we are, greeting you, with yet another erotically stupendous issue! It is our most fervent hope that our diligence will be rewarded in the form of providing you with endless hours of pleasure. And with the luscious models we have lined up inside, there's little doubt that heavy breathing will be the order of the day as you peruse our potently prurient pages!
We probably should start things off on a mild note, but damned if we don't hit you right in the balls with MEGAN, a blonde who has a perverse penchant for spreading her thighs. Of course, pink is her favorite color! And you can color STACY & STEVEN wild. They do it every which way, on their way to pleasing each other and you! Then, for a little change of pace, we'd like you to spend the day with GINGER. First you'll romp on the beach with her, as this brunette with the nasty look in her eyes gets downand-dirty in the sand. Then she'll take you home, where she completely goes over the edge, undoubtedly taking you with her! But before your exhausted boner decides to call it a night, we've got a few more passionate pussies to showcase, not the least of which is SANDRA. Our centerfold lass literally explodes across the pages, fingering her blonde snatch to a shattering climax which you'll find hard to believe! Somehow, if you're still not satiated, having patiently waited for unadulterated girl/girl action, LINDA & AMY do the deed! We surely could have subtitled this set "Tongues In Heat!" Since we're basically nice guys, we figure you can use a break of sorts just about now. After all, your heart and hand are probably both pumping in double-time at this point. So cool down by reading WARRIORS, our investigative report on America's revolutionary new defense aircraft! But don't get too placid because we plan on providing one last thrilling bang. Her name is MARILYN, and she loves showing how plump and suckable her clit is. Our intimate close-ups are the next best thing to actually tasting her goodies!
If we've whet your appetite, by the time you get to the last page you'll be so stuffed with our libido-satisfying meal that you won't want another bite of pleasure till at least the next morning. By then, we hope you'll want to start all over again by scarfing down another delightful dose of STAG. It should be enough to last you for a while—until our next incredible issue!

About Stag
The first Stag magazine, published by Leeds Publishing Corp., beginning with vol. 1, #1 (June 1937), was a 25-cent, 96-page, digest subtitled "A Magazine for Men" and which included articles and stories by such writers as Carleton Beals, Elsa Maxwell, Bernard Sobel, and Hendrik Willem van Loon. It covered a range of topics, including literature, music, sports, and theater, along with stories on male-female relationships, sexual issues, and such topics as striptease.

A second volume, published by Official Com. Inc. and edited by Noah Sarlat, appeared circa 1951 as a 25-cent, 82-page, standard-sized men's adventure magazine. This version, containing ostensibly "true-life" fiction of men in wartime or in rugged adventure mode, continued through at least volume 22 in 1971, by which time it had published by Martin Goodman's related company, Atlas Magazines Inc., and Magazine Management Co., Inc., by which time the cover price had been raised to 50 cents.

Goodman also published the annual publication Stag Annual, starting in 1964.

Writer Dorothy Gallagher reminisced in 1998 that by the early 1960s, when Magazine Management occupied the second floor at 60th Street and Madison Avenue, "...magazines were produced the way Detroit produced cars. I worked on the fan-magazine line. On the other side of a five-foot partition was the romance-magazine line. And across a corridor were the financial staples of the organization, the men's magazines — Stag, For Men Only, Male — for which, at one time or another, Mario Puzo, Bruce Jay Friedman, David Markson, Mickey Spillane and Martin Cruz Smith wrote, until they became too exalted and rich to do it anymore." Cover illustrators included Frank Soltesz.

Stag transitioned to become a men's pornographic magazine, published by Goodman's son Charles "Chip" Goodman at Magazine Management's successor company, Swank Publications. The publishing group Magna bought Stag and its sister publication Swank from that company in 1993.
